Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (Travel)
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide all Respiratory Therapy modalities.
- On-call requirement: 4 shifts in a 6-week schedule.
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (American Heart Association only) – Required for clinical positions.
- NBRC (National Board of Respiratory Care Certification) – Required.
- Valid permanent professional license – No temporary licenses accepted; must be verified within 30 days of start and updated every 2 years.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Preferred but not required; medical or religious exemptions accepted.
- MMR: Positive titers within last 15 years required; booster protocol applies if low titer.
- Varicella: Positive titers within last 15 years required; booster protocol applies if low titer.
- Hepatitis B: Proof of full series, partial series, or signed declination form accepted; positive titers within 15 years accepted.
- Tdap: Vaccination within last 10 years required; no declinations accepted.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (October-March); declination requires mask-wearing and completion of specific forms.
- Fit Test: Completed within 1 year of start; specific mask types required.
- 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Negative test within last 6 months required; if positive, clear chest x-ray and current TB questionnaire required.
- Positive PPD: Requires negative chest x-ray and annual TB questionnaire.
- Physical/Health Statement: Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year stating ability to work without restrictions.
Background & Verification Requirements
- Criminal Background Check: Within 6 months, including Social Security Trace, County searches (last 7 years), National Criminal Sweep, and Sex Offender check. International background check required if not lived in US for past 5 years.
- Ohio Fingerprints: Required for Ohio residents (5+ years or less than 5 years with FBI fingerprint check). Attestation allowed if fingerprints pending.
- Education Verification: Highest level of education verified through third-party; international equivalency required if applicable.
- Employment Verification: Verification of employment within last 5 years through third-party.
- OIG Search: To be completed within 6 months prior to start.
- SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC Screening: To be completed within 6 months prior to start.
- Social Security Trace: If not included in background check, to be completed within 1 year prior to start.
- NSO (National Sex Offender) Check: If not included in background check, to be completed within 30 days prior to start.
Testing & Competency Requirements
- Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start; instant drug screens not accepted.
- UHS Competency Exam: Must score at least 80%; valid within 1 year prior to start.
- UHS Core Competencies: Includes HIPAA, Joint Commission-NPSG, OSHA topics; 80% passing score required; valid within 1 year prior to start.
- Skills Checklist: Clinical skill-specific checklist required within 1 year prior to start (initial hire only).
Additional Requirements
- UHS I-9 Attestation: Proof of eligibility to work in the US required.
- UHS Submission Packet: Resume, 2 professional references (within last 2 years), job application, and employment history form required for submission.
- UHS Badge Photo: Recent headshot required.
- Driver’s License/State ID: Non-expired ID required.
- UHS Module Completion Certificate: Completion of required safety and compliance training modules prior to clearance; annual renewal required.
This position requires thorough credentialing and compliance with health, safety, and legal standards to ensure quality patient care and regulatory adherence.
