Travel RN PCU - Tulsa, Oklahoma

Job Summary

  • Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Coordinate all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Follow physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with healthcare team members.
  • Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) following Standard Precautions.

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Required Certifications and Licenses

  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Driver's License/State ID (must be valid and match address requirements)

Required Exams and Competencies

  • Ascension Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
  • Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
  • Ascension Color Vision Test (updated every 3 years)
  • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80%, updated yearly)
  • Ascension EKG Exam (minimum 80%, only two attempts allowed)
  • Ascension Cerner Test-Out
  • Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical, updated annually)
  • Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)

Onboarding and Professional Requirements

  • Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite)
  • Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
  • Ascension Nova StatStrip training
  • Ascension Badge Photo (professional headshot with white or blue background)
  • Ascension Profile (resume or professional profile)
  • Ascension 2 Professional References (at least two)
  • Ascension Criminal Background Check (including SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, National Sex Offender)
  • Ascension EPLS check (within 90 days of start)
  • Ascension Education Verification (within 90 days of start)
  • Ascension Confirmation of Assignment (agency letterhead with start/end dates)
  • Ascension Employment Verification (past 7 years)

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted
  • Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, serological immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
  • Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted but mask required at all times
  • Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite; updated annually
  • Positive PPD with Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire or IGRA test results (documentation required)
  • Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually

Additional Notes

  • Flu season mask requirement applies October 1, 2024 through March 31, 2025.
  • Some credentials and exams require completion prior to start; others must be updated regularly.
  • Critical to maintain compliance with all credentialing, testing, and health requirements for assignment clearance.
