Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - CVOR

Position Overview

• Specialty: RN with Cardiac Operating Room (CVOR) experience
• Must have scrub experience; will be working in a scrub capacity
• Cardiac call required (minimum ~6 calls/month; may be up to 10 if short staffed)
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs is expected
• Block scheduling is not accommodated
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Pending licenses are not accepted
• Guaranteed hours: 36 hours for 3x12 shifts or 40 hours for 8/10 shifts
• Must be nicotine-free (smoke-free facility)
• Time-sensitive training modules must be prioritized and completed before start

Experience & Certifications Required

• Minimum 2 years of direct CVOR experience with scrub experience
• Certifications required at time of submission:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification must be obtained prior to start
• Must have experience in Cardiac OR and ability to manage call setup and start
• Pass/Fail testing (EKG/Medication) during orientation is required for RNs

On-Call Details

• Cardiac call approximately 6 minimum per month (1 per weekday, 2 weekend shifts)
• Weekend shifts are 24 hours
• Call frequency may increase if short staffed

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Proof of I9 or attestation
• Government-issued photo ID required on person during hours of service
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen plus nicotine test within 1 year of start (no FL Medical Marijuana card accepted)
• Physical exam within 6 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Required immunizations/vaccinations or documented immunity:

  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine (declinations not accepted; medical/religious exemptions allowed)
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
• 2 professional references within 2 years required
• Employment application and skills checklist (updated annually) required
• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome; cannot be completed on a phone)
• Compliance with facility privacy policies and acknowledgements

Additional Notes

• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; late requests likely will not be approved
• Candidates must be aware of and complete all required onboarding modules promptly
• Facility issues radiation badges to applicable candidates
• Performance evaluations required if previously worked with the facility over 1 year
