Physical Therapist (PT) - Temporary Position

Location: Tawas City, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Delegate responsibilities to Physical Therapist Assistant and Aides.
• Patient-focused activities including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in line with physical therapy standards, physician orders, and policies.
• Evaluate patient function through formal/informal testing of skeletal, neurological, respiratory, and cardiovascular status.
• Develop goal-specific treatment plans based on assessment data and patient tolerance.
• Submit written treatment plans for physician authorization and update plans as patient status changes.
• Coordinate treatment schedules with patients, families, caregivers, and clinical support staff.
• Educate patients and caregivers on pathology, prognosis, treatment rationale, and alternatives including rest, exercise, and modalities.

Requirements

Experience

• Physical Therapy experience: Required
• Outpatient experience: Required (primarily outpatient with some acute care)
• Women’s Health experience: Preferred

Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Active Michigan state license required

Additional Requirements

• Work history and skills checklist current to within 1 year, relevant to specialty
• Two supervisory reference forms from within the last two years
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (local candidates not considered)

Work Environment

• Business casual dress code
• Facility is a 47-bed acute inpatient center with 24/7 emergency care, surgical services, imaging, and maternity center

This position offers the opportunity to work in a primarily outpatient setting with some acute care exposure, focusing on comprehensive physical therapy treatment and patient education.
