Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Florence, South Carolina

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Cath Lab Tech
• Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5x8s)
• Caseload: Varies with volume
• On-Call: Required on weekdays and weekends on rotation

  • Weekend call starts Friday 5 PM and ends Monday 7 AM
• Floating: May float to Electrophysiology (EP) as needed
• Housing: Must live within 30 minutes of the facility to respond promptly for STEMI calls

Experience & Certification Requirements

• Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year Cath Lab and EP experience
  • Required skills: EP monitoring, pacing, burning; circulating; PCI; Shockwave; CSI; Impella insertion; Balloon pump
  • Preferred skills: Scrub, circulate, monitor in all cases; tilt table study; cardioversion; vascular experience (carotid and peripherals); PFA and Watchman experience
• Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA or ARC)
  • ACLS (AHA or ARC)
  • ARRT(R) with SCRQSA(R) or CCI(RCIS) with SCRQSA
• Equipment Experience: Siemens and GE systems
• Radiation Badge: Required and must be provided by the agency (facility does NOT provide)

Scheduling & Work Conditions

• Block Schedule: Possible with prior approval (not guaranteed)
• Local Radius: 60 miles
• Locals: Not accepted
• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks
• Hurricane Season: June through November; employees may be assigned to emergency response teams during this time

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Work Eligibility: Completed and accurate I-9 form, Driver’s License/State ID, Social Security Card or SSN verification
• Background Checks:

  • Annual background check covering last 7 years
  • Includes SSN trace, state and national criminal checks, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, international searches
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• Education Verification: Not required for this facility; diploma/transcripts accepted as placeholders if needed
• Licensure:

  • South Carolina RN license or compact license required
  • Walk-through (temporary) license option available for eligible candidates (24-48 business hours processing)
  • All licensure hits must be approved by facility
• Certifications: Must be current and not expiring within 30 days of start
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam updated annually
  • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
  • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold within 90 days) or chest X-ray if positive
  • Immunizations or titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (vaccination, titer, or declination)
  • 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (Aug 1 – Apr 30) or medical/religious exemption (no declinations accepted)
  • COVID vaccination not required but highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
  • Respirator clearance annually for patient-facing roles
• Radiation Badge: Required for Cath Lab, EP Lab, OR, and Radiology travelers; not required for MRI, Mammography, or Ultrasound techs
• References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Performance Evaluation: Must be dated within 12 months of start
• Employment History: Last 3 clinical employers verified (not required for this facility)

Orientation & Facility Specifics

• Orientation Modules: Must be completed prior to start; estimated 4 hours for Florence campus
• Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo required
• Facility Documents: Candidates must review and sign various agreements including Assignment Acknowledgment, Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, HR Policy Manual, Systems User Agreement, User Access Request, and HIPAA Attestation
• First Day Instructions: Provided after clearance; includes OurDay platform access for document uploads and training modules
• Vaccination Documentation: Must be uploaded into OurDay platform

Important Notes

• Candidates must be prepared for on-call responsibilities and live close to the facility.
• Radiation badges can take 5-7 days to process; candidates cannot start floor duties without them.
• Flu vaccine deadline is December 5th; failure to comply may result in leave without pay.
• Hurricane season assignments may affect availability and willingness to accept new or extended contracts during June-November.
