Job Description

  • Position: RDMS (OB/GYN), with AB certification preferred
  • Required Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM

Required Certifications & Competencies

  • Basic Life Support (BLS): AHA only, valid beyond 30 days from start
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): Required for specific units (IMC/PCU/Stepdown/ICU/ED/Peds ED/PreOP/PACU/OR RN/Cath lab/IR/CVIR/Radiology RN/Observation RN/RRT/EP Lab RN/CNOR)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS): Required for Peds RN/ED/Peds ED RN/PreOP/PACU RN
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP): Required for NICU/L&D/Mother Baby/RRT NICU
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC): Required as applicable
  • NIH Stroke Certification: Required for ED/Peds ED
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) or Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB): Required for ER/Peds ED/ED/Behavioral Health/Social Work/Needs assessment/CNAs in ICU
  • Tech Certification (National): For allied professionals (e.g., Cath Lab Tech: RCIS or ARRT with MD license)
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement: Required
  • STABLE Certification: Required for NICU/L&D/Baby Mother (cannot start without it)
  • State License: Must be current and valid beyond 30 days from start
  • NURSYS Verification: Required for RNs
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required as applicable
  • Color Blind Testing: Must be completed within 5 years of start
  • Competency Exams: Required
  • Core Parts I, II, III: For subcontractors, either signed HIPAA form or core testing acceptable

Background & Documentation Requirements

  • I9 or Attestation
  • Government Issued Photo ID: Must be carried during hours of service
  • E-Verify or Attestation
  • Residency Declaration Form: Required if working on a compact license
  • 7-Year Criminal Background Check: Must cover all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; international searches required
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM Check: Required within 30 days of start and updated with contract renewals
  • HHS/OIG Check: Required within 30 days of start and updated with contract renewals
  • Transcript/Diploma or Education Verification: Highest degree completed required; foreign-educated candidates may require additional approval
  • Fingerprinting: Maryland CJIS/DSS/FBI fingerprint results required for behavioral health units; must be completed in Maryland at least 5 business days before start; no pending results allowed
  • Education Verification: Acceptable in lieu of transcript/diploma
  • References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Performance Evaluation: Required if worked with the system over 1 year
  • Employment Application/Resume: Required
  • Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually for applicable units
  • Radiation Badge: Provided by facility for new radiology candidates; required for certain tech roles
  • Attestation of Prior Radiation Exposure: Required for candidates working in specified radiation-related units

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Fit Mask (Fit Testing): Must be completed within 12 months of start; no religious or medical exemptions accepted without facility-approved accommodation; facial hair must be trimmed/shaved as necessary
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Vaccine within last 10 years, must include Pertussis
  • Negative TB Test or Chest X-Ray: QuantiFERON-TB Gold or TSPOT blood test within 90 days of start; two-step TB skin test acceptable if blood test unavailable; documentation required for positive history
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; 2 boosters required for low titer; may start with 2nd booster pending
  • Hepatitis B: Positive quantitative IGG titer within 5 years required; series must be repeated if low titer until positive or 6 doses received
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; 2 boosters required for low titer; may start with 2nd booster pending
  • Drug Testing: 11-panel drug screen including cotinine/nicotine and marijuana within 30 days of start; must be renewed if gap >30 days
  • Flu Vaccination: Required for 2025-26 season; no declination except approved religious/medical exemptions
  • Eye Exam: Visual acuity screening within 6 months of start, repeated annually; minimum corrected vision 20/40
  • Color Blind Exam: Must be completed within 5 years of start; online exam acceptable
  • COVID-19 Vaccination: Strongly recommended; declinations require facility approval

Facility Specific Notes

  • Smoke/nicotine free campus; no exceptions
  • Behavioral health fingerprint confirmation and CPS background check required for behavioral health units; results must be posted
  • Fit test medical and religious exemptions require facility-approved forms and may lead to PAPR training if approved
  • New form required for every pre-new contract acknowledging tobacco-free workplace and nicotine-free status for past 90 days
  • Fingerprinting must be scheduled and completed in Maryland with clear results before start date
  • Orientation forms must be physically carried onsite for completion at orientation
