Registered Nurse (MedSurg) - Travel/Contract Position

Location: Thomasville, Georgia
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Start Date: Approximately 3 weeks from offer
Shift: Days, every other weekend (EOW)
Schedule Options: 3x12 hour shifts or 4x12 hour shifts
Float: Required
Return to Orientation (RTO): Minimal to none (must be included on submission)

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 1 year recent MedSurg experience required
• Previous travel experience preferred
• General MedSurg skills
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• EMR system used: Soarian
• Royal Blue scrubs required (not provided)

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC provider/instructor certs accepted
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
• Other certifications may be required depending on specialty/unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC) but not mandatory for this role

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background Checks & Verifications

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• Education verification (Diploma or Transcript accepted if EDV not verifiable)
• NURSYS verification for RN license
• State license primary source verification
• References: Two recent supervisor/manager level references verified within 12 months
• Performance and internal evaluations if previously worked with the system over 1 year

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Fit test completed onsite at no cost
• Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 30 days of start; no PPD accepted
• TB questionnaire within 30 days of start
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination accepted)
• Drug screen: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (9/3 - 3/31) unless approved medical/religious exemption is provided
• COVID-19 vaccination not required but proof of vaccine, exemption, or declination must be collected

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Completion of assigned HealthStream modules prior to first day
• Submission of a professional photo for badge within 24 hours of signing
• Compliance with dress code (review only)
• Completion of facility-specific forms (e.g., IS115, IS119) with wet or DocuSign signature
• Flu exemption forms if applicable (medical/religious)

Fingerprinting

• Georgia GCHEXS fingerprinting required only for CNAs; not required for RNs
• If fingerprinting is required, must be completed promptly with a 30-day grace period for results

Additional Notes

• Minimal to no return to orientation (RTO) expected
• Must be able to float to other units as needed
• Royal Blue scrubs are required but not provided by the facility

This position is ideal for a MedSurg RN with recent experience, who is flexible with scheduling and able to meet comprehensive compliance and health requirements.
