Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Technologist (MRI)
Location: Stockbridge, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 20 weeks
Job Description
- Schedule: Monday through Thursday
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year; first-time travelers not accepted
- Patient Population: Pediatrics to Geriatrics
- Certifications Required: BLS, ARRT
- Clinical Duties:
- Perform MRI scans on Inpatient (IP), Emergency Room (ER), and Outpatient (OP) patients following facility protocols
- Start IVs, operate PACS and administer contrast
- Scan most body parts including body, neuro, extremities, abdominal, pelvic, angiogram
- No cardiac scans; breast and pacemaker scans only during the week
- Work Environment: Collaborate with technologists, nurses, doctors, and transporters
- MRI Room: 1 room with average daily caseload of 15-25 patients
- Systems Used: Epic (required), GE and Siemens MRI machines (required)
- Dress Code: Pewter gray or black scrub colors
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- Weekends: Every other weekend required
- Floating: None
- Call Requirements: Yes
- Holiday Work:
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it
- If 2 major holidays fall, expected to work both
- If 3 major holidays fall, expected to work 2 of them
- Major holidays include New Year’s Eve/Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day
Compliance & Orientation
- Full compliance required to start on time
- Non-compliance results in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Clinical screening required to determine fit before final manager approval
- Locals accepted at same rate
- Orientation hours vary based on contract length
Required Certifications & Verifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA or ARC accepted
- ARRT Certification
- Other certifications may be required depending on specialty and role (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) – check specialty-specific requirements
- State license verification (Georgia license required for CRTs & RRTs)
- Allied annual license verification (if applicable) within 30 days prior to start
- Annual NURSYS verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP (if applicable)
Background Checks & Documentation
- Background check required within 30 days of start, including:
- Perm and non-perm county checks
- National sex offender registry
- Nationwide criminal search
- Education verification (degree related to application)
- Diplomas/transcripts required for RRTs
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
- TB questionnaire updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B series or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)
Competency Exams & Testing
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (for RNs and LVNs)
- Color blind testing required for all candidates
- Competency exams required for nursing and allied health staff (not required for subcontractors)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain specialties (Tele, ICU, ER, etc.)
Additional Notes
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
- References: 2 clinical references required by agency (not required by client)
- Skills checklist and work history verification required, can be pending at start with proof of processing
