Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for protecting, promoting, and optimizing health and abilities, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering through diagnosis, treatment, and advocacy for individuals and families. The RN ensures compliance with professional standards and promotes a patient-centered, caring, and healing environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
• Serve as a primary or accountable nurse based on unit assignment.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
• Administer medications safely using pharmacology knowledge.
• Share responsibility for productivity and resource utilization (staffing, time, supplies).
• Comply with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and facility policies.
• Participate in Nursing Shared Governance, unit councils, improvement initiatives, and peer review.
• Engage in professional development and complete mandatory education.
• Integrate nursing research and evidence-based practice.
• Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
• Adhere to organizational values and perform other assigned duties.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Skills & Experience

• 6 months to 3 years of nursing (RN) experience.
• 0 to 3 years of management experience.
• 5+ years of direct patient care experience.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Critical thinking and sound judgment.
• Organizational skills including planning and time management.
• Problem-solving abilities.
• Commitment to quality, reliability, safety, and risk management.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Previous clinical nursing experience in acute care or ambulatory settings.

Education Requirements

• Required: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Certifications & Licensure

• Required: Current New York State RN License.
• Required: BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• Unit-specific requirements must be validated prior to submission.
• Preferred: Professional certification in a related nursing specialty.
• Preferred: Relevant skills certifications such as ACLS, PALS, TNCC as required by assigned unit.
