Description

Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialist

Location: Cartersville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks


Unit Details

  • CRT not accepted
  • Weekend Schedule: Every Other Weekend
  • No On-Call Required
  • Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed
  • Minimum Experience: 1 year (first-time travelers accepted)

Assignment Expectations

  • Must work major holidays if they fall during assignment:
    • Memorial Day
    • Independence Day
    • Labor Day
    • Thanksgiving/Black Friday
    • Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
    • New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
  • Return to Office (RTO) policy: Maximum 7 days
  • Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week push back due to orientation schedule
  • Locals accepted at same rate
  • Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)

Required Experience & Certifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience in specialty
  • Certifications (as applicable to specialty and role):
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - online course required post-hire
    • State License (Georgia license required for CRTs & RRTs)
    • National Tech Certification (if applicable)
    • NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
    • NIH Stroke Certification (if required)

Compliance & Background Requirements

  • Background Check required within 30 days of start, including:
    • County and national criminal searches
    • Sex offender registry
    • Education verification (degree related to application)
  • Diplomas required for RRTs
  • Education verification can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions)
  • Physical Exam: Required within 1 year of start (Aya requirement)
  • TB Testing: Negative PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months; TB Questionnaire required annually
  • Immunizations:
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
    • Hepatitis B series or declination
    • Flu vaccine or declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)

Competency Exams (Aya Required)

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (RNs and LVNs)
  • Color Blind Testing (all candidates)
  • General Competency Exam (Nursing and Allied)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (for Telemetry, ICU, ER, and related units)

Facility Policies & Documents

  • Must review and sign Code of Conduct and Acknowledgement prior to start
  • Must review Dress and Professional Appearance Policy

References & History

  • Two clinical references required (Aya requirement)
  • Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
  • Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)

Additional Notes

  • Floating within facility as needed
  • Orientation hours non-billable and proportional to contract length
  • Full compliance with all requirements is mandatory to avoid delays in start date
