Job Description

• Position for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with ABG endorsement.
• Work in a busy Respiratory Therapy department.
• Must be licensed to practice in Tennessee.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP.
• Responsibilities include all aspects of respiratory care for patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics, including intubation and arterial blood gases (puncture and analysis).
• Must have Epic experience within the last 12 months (to be detailed in the application).
• Locals and first-time travelers accepted at the same rate.
• Minimum 1 year of experience required.

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC accepted
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – American Academy of Pediatrics only
• Valid Tennessee state license to practice as an RRT
• Epic system competency (Epic test required)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service.
• Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals.
• Physical exam within one year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within one year; annual TB questionnaire required.
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel test within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted).
• Seasonal vaccinations required:

  • Flu vaccine during flu season (11/1 - 3/31), no declinations accepted.
  • COVID vaccination or approved exemption required.
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations.
• Complete employment application/resume required.
• Skills checklist as applicable to specialty.

Additional Notes

• Candidates must complete an Epic test with only one attempt allowed; failure results in contract cancellation.
• Facility allows candidates to start with Epic pending but requires completion onsite.
• Appearance standards must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
• N95 fit test required within one year of start; no PAPR allowed. Failure to pass results in contract cancellation.
• All certifications and background checks must be current and verifiable.
