Respiratory Care Practitioner RRT - Pediatrics (Oklahoma City, OK)

Position Overview

• Provide respiratory therapy services under general supervision for all appropriate pediatric age levels.
• Work in various areas served by the Respiratory Therapy Department.
• Participate as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests.

Essential Responsibilities

• Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by medical staff.
• Record treatment information and patient responses in computerized medical records.
• Serve as a resource to medical staff.
• Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and patient monitoring.
• Provide age-appropriate respiratory care.
• Ensure respiratory equipment is cleaned, maintained, and operational.
• Maintain respiratory therapy records.

General Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Contract Length

• Approximately 13 weeks (89 days rounded to nearest week).

Experience

• No experience required.
• Preferred: 2 years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures, techniques, and equipment operation/repair.
• Clinical decision-making skills related to pulmonary and cardiac patient care across pediatric age groups.
• Ability to interpret patient information to identify needs.
• Ability to work effectively under stress.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to maintain positive working relationships.
• Basic computer skills.
