MRI Technician - Kyle, Texas (Long-Term Assignment)

Job Summary

• Operate MRI scanner to obtain diagnostic images.
• Prepare and position patients accurately for cross-sectional imaging.
• Perform patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to MRI exams.
• Enter and monitor patient data; manage image transfer and film development.
• Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
• Ensure high-quality images and correct documentation are submitted to PACS.
• Monitor equipment functionality and report malfunctions.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the department including procedure rooms and storage areas.
• Work requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
• Use personal protective equipment following standard precautions.

Required Credentials and Onboarding Requirements

Professional Credentials

• Signed Assignment Agreement (required for onboarding)
• Ascension Resume (required for submission)
• BLS Certification (AHA standard, required for onboarding)
• License/Certificate Verification (current license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start)
• Ascension Specialty Exam (completed prior to first assignment, updated every 3 years, minimum 80% passing score)
• Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year of start and updated yearly, minimum 80% score)
• Ascension Medical Imaging Contract Worker Onboarding Education Attestation (completed pre-hire)
• Ascension Profile (resume or profile, required for submission)
• Two Professional References (required for submission)
• Criminal Background Check (including SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender check; updated annually)
• EPLS Check (updated within 90 days of start)
• Skills Checklist (clinical, completed within one year of start and updated annually)
• Education Verification (relevant to clinical work, completed within 90 days of start)
• Confirmation of Assignment (provided at initial assignment and updates with extensions)
• Employment Verification (past 7 years, updated annually)

Personal Health History Requirements

• MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Fit Test: Required for all travelers, preferred before start (annual update)
• Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
• Positive PPD: Negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire (optional but recommended)
• Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA: Required within specified timeframes, with annual TB questionnaire updates
• Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history; no declinations accepted
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years, no declinations accepted
• 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter; includes testing for 12 specified substances
