Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialist
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must be a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting
- Must hold an Ohio RRT license at time of submission
- NBRC certification required
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of submission
- ACLS required for RRTs working in Emergency Department
- PALS and NRP required for RRT-NICU (pediatric/neonatal) roles
- Must include all work history, including any previous positions at this healthcare system
Work Details
- Assignment length: 8 or 12 weeks
- Weekend shifts as needed
- May float to other facilities within the system as needed
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
Background Checks
- Criminal background check (FCRA compliant 7-year search) required prior to start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required monthly
- Transcript/Diploma verification required
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting within 12 months of start (must be completed ASAP; results required before onboarding)
Certifications
- Current NBRC certification (CRT or RRT)
- Ohio RRT license required
- HIPAA Orientation and Safety Manual acknowledgment (annual update)
Competencies
- Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start (annual update)
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Completion of online training modules prior to start (4-5 hours, must be done on a computer using Chrome)
- Badge photo and badge pickup required before starting assignment
- I9/E-Verify attestation required
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year, confirming ability to perform essential job functions
- Fit mask test within 12 months, updated annually (specific approved N95 masks required)
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold/T-Spot) within 6 months, renewed annually
- Chest X-ray required if history of positive TB test, with physician clearance
- TB questionnaire if history of positive TB
- Immunizations or titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or signed declination)
- Varicella
- Negative 10-panel + Nicotine drug screen within 12 months, updated annually
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31)
Additional Requirements
- Two recent satisfactory pre-employment references
- Employment application including 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in a similar acute care setting
- Unit-specific skills checklist, updated annually
Notes
- All documentation must be current and uploaded with appropriate expiration dates
- Fingerprinting and background checks must be completed and cleared before onboarding
- Candidates working with pediatric patients (RRT-NICU) have additional onsite fingerprinting and certification requirements
