Job Opportunity: Mammography Technologist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Irvine, California

Job Description

  • Work in an outpatient infusion center focused on oncology, primarily breast cancer patients.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts. No call, weekends, or float required.
  • Department is relatively new (3 years old) with a new lead physician; adaptability and change management skills are important.
  • Work alongside two other mammography techs and a lead ultrasound tech.
  • Exceptional customer service skills required, especially for adult and geriatric patients.
  • Environment is dynamic and may involve ambiguity.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of mammography tech experience required.
  • 5+ years preferred.
  • First-time travelers considered if they have 5+ years of experience.
  • Prior travel experience is NOT explicitly required.

Certifications Required

  • State License
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • MQSA (Mammography Quality Standards Act)

Preferred Certifications:

  • ARRT (Mammography)
  • ARRT (Radiography)

Documentation & Orientation

  • 16 hours unit orientation required.
  • EPIC documentation system used.
  • Scrubs colors: Grey, Caribbean Blue, or Navy Blue.

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID required.
  • Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required.
  • Education verification and diploma/transcripts required.
  • Various certifications and competency exams as applicable.
  • Annual safety manual acknowledgement.
  • Respirator questionnaire and clearance if applicable.

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within last 12 months.
  • Fit mask testing onsite (RespSafety clearance required).
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination form.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable.
  • TB questionnaire updated annually.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer required; boosters may be required if titers are low.
  • Hepatitis B series or positive titer; declination requires proof of non-immune status.
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer; declination possible with restrictions.
  • 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
  • COVID-19 vaccination (dose 1 and fully vaccinated) required; medical/religious exemptions accepted with documentation. Booster and seasonal vaccine also required or declination accepted.
