Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Minimum Experience: ICU, ED, or Conscious Sedation
• Prior Travel Experience: Not for first-time travelers (prior travel experience required)

Certifications & Licenses

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Maryland Nursing License or Compact RN License (with proof of state residency)
• NIH Stroke Certification (AHA or APEX required; must be obtained within first week if not already held)

Call & Scheduling

• Call required nights and weekends
• Call hours: 5:30 PM - 7:00 AM weekdays; 5:30 PM Friday - 7:00 AM Monday on weekends (rotating schedule)
• Average call: 9-14 days per six-week period
• Self-scheduling

Patient Population

• Adult and Geriatric patients

Uniform

• Scrubs provided

Required Health & Safety Documents

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year (annual update required)
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (annual update required)
• Immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccination, positive titer, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year
• Flu vaccine required (no declinations accepted)

Background Checks & Verifications

• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks annually
• Fingerprinting required for school placements only (Maryland CJIS/DSS/FBI)

Competencies & Additional Requirements

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred for ICU, required for ER/ED
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• NURSYS verification as applicable
• Core competency testing for subcontractors

References & Evaluations

• Proof of 2 clinical references required
• Performance evaluation required if worked with the system over 1 year
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units

This position requires a Registered Nurse with ICU, ED, or Conscious Sedation experience, prior travel experience, and multiple certifications and health clearances. The role includes call responsibilities and self-scheduling, serving adult and geriatric patients.
