Job Opportunity: RN Step Down - Elmira, New York
Position Details
- Specialty: RN Step Down
- Location: Elmira, New York
- Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
- Patient Ratio: 7:1 night shift
Job Description / Responsibilities
- ACLS certified skills required
- Pushing, pulling, lifting patients and equipment
- Medication administration
- Patient assessments
- Developing and managing care plans
- Effective communication and teamwork skills essential
Required Certifications and Training
- BLS (American Heart Association only)
- ACLS (American Heart Association only)
- 8 Hours of Stroke Training (includes NHISS training)
- COVID-19 Vaccine (optional but recommended)
- MMR: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required with documentation
- Fit Test: Must be completed within the last 12 months on approved mask models
- Hepatitis B: Positive antibody titer, 3 vaccine series, or specific declination form required
- Influenza Vaccine: Required or specific declination form with mask-wearing mandate
- TB Test: Must have valid testing within required timeframes; follow-up may be required for past positives
- Varicella: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required with documentation
- Tdap: Preferred within last 10 years or specific declination form
- Physical/Health Statement: Must be within last 12 months, including vitals and physician approval
Licenses and Professional Requirements
- Valid State Nursing License (verification required within 30 days prior to start)
- Driver’s License or State ID (valid and unexpired)
- Completion of Arnot Skills Checklist for the assigned unit (updated annually)
- Passing score (80% or higher) on Arnot Core Competency Exam (Nursing Core Comp I, II, III)
- Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days of start, including national and county criminal searches, FACIS 3 Check, and SSN Address Trace
- Drug Screen: Must be completed within 30 days of start; marijuana testing is prohibited per New York state regulations
- Employment Verification: Verification of most recent employer required (agency verification accepted)
- Professional References: One supervisor reference from last 12 months and one supervisor or peer reference from last 3 years
- Completion of Arnot Job Description acknowledgment (signed and dated)
- Submission of a recent color headshot (professional, no filters, JPEG format)
