Job Details
- Care for patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- All patients are on bedside cardiac monitors
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
- Work schedule: 36 hours per week, every other weekend, and one major holiday per contract
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- Driver’s License/State ID (must be valid and match address requirements)
Required Exams & Training
- Ascension Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Medical Surgical Exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension EKG Exam (minimum 80%, updated as per latest edition)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; minimum 80%, updated yearly)
- NIH Certification (Group A yearly, Groups B-F every 2 years)
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills, updated annually)
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella: Documented proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
- Fit Test: Required annually (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite)
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
Professional Requirements
- Resume/Profile submission
- At least 2 professional references prior to first assignment
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry (updated annually)
- Employment verification for the past 7 years (updated annually)
- Education verification relevant to clinical work (within 90 days of start)
- Confirmation of assignment documentation (start and end dates)

- Nursys verification and license/certification verifications must be completed and uploaded as required
- Various Ascension-specific onboarding and compliance checklists and attestations must be completed prior to start
