Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Summary
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
- Work Setting: Main Operating Room (OR)
- Surgical Specialties: General, Neuro, Spine, Orthopedics, Robotics, Urology, Vascular, Colorectal
- Required Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty (1 year minimum experience; 1st timers accepted)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required
Key Requirements
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, NIH Stroke Certification, and others may be required depending on specialty area (refer to clinical track guidelines)
- Skills:
- Circulate and Scrub experience in OR is a hard requirement
- Systems:
- Experience with Epic, Pyxis, and Da Vinci XI Robots preferred
- Call & Shift Requirements:
- Call: 7-8 calls in a 6-week schedule
- Weekend shifts: Average 2-3 per contract period
- Floating: Rare
- Holidays:
- Expected to work major holidays if they fall within the assignment period (up to 2 holidays)
Orientation & Compliance
- Return to Orientation (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- Full compliance with onboarding and credentialing required to start on time
- Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8 weeks)
Patient Ratio & Unit Details
- 16 rooms with an average daily census of 35 patients
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Background Check (within 30 days of start) including education verification
- State License verification (Georgia RN license required)
- Annual NURSYS verification
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (cannot start with results pending)
- Physical Exam (within 1 year of start)
- Immunizations and Health Documents:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B series or signed declination
- Flu vaccination or declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)
- Skills Checklist updated within 12 months
- Work History Verification and 2 clinical references required
Additional Notes
- Scrub color provided by facility
- Locals accepted at same rate
- Candidate will undergo clinical screening to determine fit before final approval
- Color Blind Testing required (with alternative assessment if needed)
- Competency exams required for medication, dysrhythmia/EKG, and general nursing competencies
This position is ideal for RNs with at least 1 year of OR experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical environment with a variety of specialties and technology.
