Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVICCU RN) - Florence, South Carolina
Position Details

- Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Days (7 AM - 7 PM), with holiday rotation
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: No
- Floating: Yes, may float within scope to like units/sister facilities (agency floats first)
- Local Radius: 60 miles
- Local Travelers: Not accepted
- First-time Travelers: Not accepted
Experience & Licensure Requirements
- Years of Experience Required: Minimum 1 year (cardiac experience required)
- Prior Travel Experience: Required (first-time travelers not accepted)
- Licenses: South Carolina RN license or Compact license must be in hand prior to start
- Certifications Required:
- ACLS (AHA or ARC only)
- BLS (AHA or ARC only)
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Additional Certifications (as applicable):
- PALS (AHA or ARC only)
- NRP (AHA/AAP only)
- TNCC (as required)
- EFM (AWHONN or NCC acceptable)

- Hurricane Season: June through November; travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during this time. Avoid confirming new or extension assignments during peak months (August-September) if this is a concern.
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.
- Block Schedule: Approval can be requested but is not guaranteed.

- Background Checks:
- Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Includes SSN Trace, SC Statewide, National Criminal, Sex Offender Registry, FACIS 3, and international searches
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education Verification:
- Diploma or transcripts preferred as placeholder if education verification is pending
- Not required for this facility
- Licensure Verification:
- Primary source verification required for SC RN license
- NURSYS verification required
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Immunizations and titers required or proof of vaccination/declination for:
- Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start (T-spot or Q-Gold accepted; 2-step PPD not accepted at this facility)
- Annual TB questionnaire
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (Aug 1 - Apr 30), or medical/religious exemption accepted (declinations not accepted)
- COVID vaccines not required but highly preferred; vaccination records must be uploaded or declination form completed
- Respirator medical clearance annually for patient-facing travelers
- Competency Exams:
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- General competency exam required
- References & Work History:
- Proof of 2 clinical references (hospital evaluations accepted)
- Performance evaluation dated within 12 months of start
- Employment application/resume required
- Skills checklist updated annually
- Work history verification not required for this facility
- Facility Specific Requirements:
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge
- Completion of facility orientation modules prior to start (approx. 4 hours)
- Signed assignment acknowledgment, code of conduct, confidentiality agreements, HR policy manual, systems user agreement, user access request, and job description prior to start
- Religious exemption form for COVID if applicable
Additional Notes
- Radiation badge required only for OR, Cath Lab, EP Lab, and Radiology travelers (not required for this RN role)
- Travelers must be prepared to float within scope as needed
- No local travelers accepted for this assignment
This position is ideal for experienced CVICCU RNs with cardiac experience and prior travel contract experience, holding the appropriate South Carolina licensure and certifications, and who are comfortable with the facility’s requirements and scheduling.
