Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Technician (Radiology / Cardiology)

Job Description

Seeking a team player with experience in Cardiac Cath and at least two of the following four modalities: Interventional Radiology, Vascular, Neuro, or Cath Lab. Candidates must have this experience clearly reflected in their work history.

• Specialty: Cath Lab Technician
• Required Experience: Minimum 18 months in specialty; 2 years preferred (use 2 years as requirement)
• First-timers Accepted: Yes
• Weekend Requirement: To be discussed with manager
• Call Requirement: Case-by-case basis; no set schedule but call is required
• Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs; will float to sister facilities within 20 miles
• Block Schedule: Not accommodated
• Locals Accepted: Yes, locals receive same rate
• Pending License Accepted: No
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours for 12-hour shifts; 40 hours for 8/10-hour shifts
• Special Requirements:

  • Must be a Scrub Technologist specializing in Cath Lab with additional experience in Interventional Radiology, Vascular, or Neuro.
  • Two of the four modalities preferred.
  • Time-sensitive training modules must be prioritized once confirmed for assignment.
  • Nicotine-free facility; negative 10-panel drug screen plus nicotine (cotinine) test required.

Certifications Required

• Certified or Registered Cardiovascular Tech (RCVT) preferred
• RCIS preferred
• ACLS (AHA or American Red Cross) required
• BLS (AHA or American Red Cross) required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprinting required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
• Physical exam within 6 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Required vaccinations or titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Negative 10-panel drug screen plus nicotine test within 1 year of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
• COVID vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption required
• Two professional references within 2 years of start required for travel positions
• Employment application and skills checklist (updated annually) required
• Radiation badge issued by facility if applicable

Orientation & Training

• Online training modules must be completed by due date prior to start (access provided after contract signing)
• Modules include COVID documentation submission and other facility-specific training
• Modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome; cannot be completed on a phone
• Candidates cannot skip training videos; must watch fully before testing
• Time-sensitive modules must be prioritized and completed promptly

Additional Notes

• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; late requests likely will not be approved
• Floating to sister hospitals within 20 miles is required
• Facility is nicotine-free with strict drug and nicotine screening policies
• Call requirements vary and will be discussed with the nurse manager
