Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Stockbridge, Georgia
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of specialty experience required
• 1st time travelers accepted
• Prior travel experience: Not required

Patient Population

• Adults to Geriatrics

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)

Work Setting & Responsibilities

• Patient diagnoses include chest pain, CHF, ESRD, anemia, abdominal pain
• Team nursing model: Each RN responsible for assessments and oversight of 8 patients
• Works alongside LPN/Paramedic and PCT to complete tasks and medication administration
• Unit systems used: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
• Patient ratio: 1 RN to 8 patients
• Average daily census: 16 patients in 16 rooms

Schedule & Work Conditions

• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
• Weekend shifts: Every other weekend
• Floating: Yes, within the facility as needed
• Call: None
• Holidays: Expected to work major holidays during assignment (up to 2 if 3 fall within contract)

Compliance & Orientation

• Full compliance required to start on time
• Orientation scheduled bi-weekly; non-compliance may delay start by 2 weeks
• Number of Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) hours depends on contract length (e.g., 12 weeks = 12 hours)

Required Documentation & Screening

• Background check within 30 days of start (including education verification)
• State license verification (Georgia RN license required)
• Annual NURSYS verification
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray as applicable
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant acceptable under certain conditions)
• Immunizations: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu vaccine or declination
• Skills checklist updated within 12 months
• Work history verification of most recent employer
• References: 2 clinical references required

Competency Exams

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required by agency)
• Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Tele, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Cardiac Tele/Step-down, ICU, PCU)

Dress Code

• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress & Professional Appearance Policy prior to start

• Floating within the facility as needed
• Locals accepted at same rate
• Clinical screen required to determine clinical fit before final manager approval
