Tele Neuro 2B Nurse - Gilbert, Arizona
Job Details
- Specialty: Tele Neuro 2B
- Location: Gilbert, Arizona
- Unit Beds: 28
- Shift: 12-hour shifts (7 AM - 7 PM)
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or possibly every third weekend
- Holidays: Work integrated into permanent staff rotation
- Charge Nurse: Yes (does not take patients)
- Nurse Aides: Yes
- Scrub Color: Navy
- Floating: May float to Cardiac Tele and/or MedSurg Oncology units; possible float to sister facility
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Active BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Active ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- Arizona nursing license or compact license
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of specialty experience (Tele Neuro)
- Prior travel experience required
- Must have Cerner electronic medical record system experience
Orientation & Testing
- Dysrhythmia exam required prior to contract signing (maximum 2 attempts)
- Pass/fail simulation lab on day 1 of orientation (study guides provided)
- Floor-specific orientation: 3 shifts on the unit
Patient Care & Environment
- Telemetry with GE monitors; must be able to interpret EKGs
- No ventilators on unit
- Intensivist available 24/7
- Respiratory therapy available 24/7
- Pharmacy available 24/7
- Common patient diagnoses include:
- CVA post TPA
- TIAs
- Head bleeds
- Carotid procedures
- Thoracotomies
- AICDs
- Post-surgical patients requiring telemetry monitoring
Additional Requirements
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or approved declination with supporting documentation and hospital approval
