Job Opportunity: PCU RN (Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse)

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Clinical - Nursing


Job Summary

  • Provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift using the nursing process.
  • Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
  • Coordinate patient care through collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Initiate, utilize, and document appropriate protocols and standards of care.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians or standard protocols, documenting according to policy.
  • Identify and meet patient and family learning and discharge needs throughout the episode of care.
  • Assume responsibility for clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
  • Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required.

Requirements

  • Must successfully pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test administered onsite before starting the assignment. One retest allowed; failure to pass after retest results in contract cancellation.
  • Minimum of 2 years current experience in an 18-plus bed telemetry/progressive care unit.
  • Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Epic EMR system.

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
