Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg/Telemetry (Days)

Location: Glens Falls, New York
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Unit primarily cares for tele/cardiac patients
• 16 beds in unit
• RN to patient ratio: 4:1
• Patient population: Adult - Geriatric
• Remote Telemetry Unit
• Must be able to interpret, measure, and document cardiac rhythms twice per shift
• Dress code: Personal scrubs of any color (no designs, cartoons, or hoodies)

Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Years of Experience: Minimum 3 years
• Experience Required:

  • Strong proficiency and experience working on Cardiac/Telemetry and Med-Tele units
  • EPIC electronic health record experience is required
  • Neuro/stroke experience is highly preferred
• Prior Travel Experience: Highly preferred but not explicitly required
• Must have a valid New York Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration Certificate
• Must have own reliable vehicle
• Must be reliable with no attendance concerns or call-outs
• Must be comfortable following department expectations for cardiac rhythm documentation
• No block scheduling will be considered
• Must pass a 14-panel drug screen within 24 hours of offer acceptance
• Must complete onboarding training from approved groups (e.g., Welle or CPI) for verbal de-escalation
• COVID vaccinations encouraged but not required

Compliance & Documentation

• Current NY RN license, ACLS, BLS certifications must be uploaded with profile
• Work history and skills checklist current to within 1 year required
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years required
• Permanent address must be included and match driver license/state ID; address will be validated
• Certain New York counties are excluded for travel assignments (Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, Washington)

Additional Information

• Requested time off during assignment must be noted and verified before submission; no more than 5 days allowed
• Facility may cancel up to 5 shifts during the 13-week contract with 2 hours’ notice
• Orientation: 8 hours (non-billable)
• No call or charge responsibilities for this position
