Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Telemetry (Travel/Contract)

Location: Mayfield Heights, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• Specialty: Med/Surg Telemetry
• Experience Required: Minimum of 18 months recent and permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience (highest requirement)
• Licensure: Must have a permanent Ohio nursing license or a compact state license in hand
• Certifications Required:

  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• Holiday Work: Must be available to work at least every other holiday
• Assessments:

  • ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate test during orientation (passing score required)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background checks including:

  • FCRA compliant 7-year search
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM (monthly)
  • HHS/OIG (monthly)
  • Fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) within 12 months, updated annually
• Education verification
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam
• Fit mask test (3M N95) within 12 months, updated annually
• Immunizations and health requirements:

  • Tdap vaccine every 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer
  • Varicella vaccination or titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption
• Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually
• Eye exam within 1 year of start (for new candidates signing after 4/11/2025)
• References: 2 professional references from within 1 year, from supervisors or managers
• Employment application including 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care and similar area
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams (unit-specific and medication/pharmacology)
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement (annual)
• Pass/fail testing for EKG and medication during orientation (unless exempt)

Additional Requirements

• Must complete all required online training modules prior to start
• Must carry government-issued photo ID while on assignment
• Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of signed contract; facility will also conduct fingerprinting onsite
• Candidates can start with fingerprinting results pending if completed prior to start
• Must comply with facility-specific onboarding and documentation processes

Summary

This is a travel Registered Nurse position for Med/Surg Telemetry night shifts in Ohio requiring at least 18 months of recent and permanent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry.
