Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Monroe, Georgia
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: Weekend shifts every other weekend
- Call: None
- Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed
- Minimum Experience: 1 year (first-time travelers accepted)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required
Clinical Screening
- Candidates will undergo a clinical review to determine fit.
- Final decision made by the manager after clinical pass and meeting guidelines.
Holidays
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler is expected to work it.
- If 2 major holidays fall, traveler must work both.
- If 3 major holidays fall, traveler must work 2 of them.
- Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day.
Compliance & Orientation
- Full compliance required to start on time.
- Non-compliance results in a 2-week delay due to bi-weekly orientation schedule.
- Orientation hours vary based on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8 weeks).
Required Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for RNs in specialties such as ER, PACU, Critical Care, Labor & Delivery, etc.
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for RNs.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for RNs in PACU, ER, and areas accepting pediatric patients.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required if applicable by specialty.
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire for applicable staff.
- State License: Must be valid and verified within 30 days prior to start (Georgia RN license required).
- NURSYS Verification: Annual verification within 30 days prior to start.
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required for RNs by the agency.
- Color Blind Testing: Required for all candidates; alternative evaluation available if needed.
- Competency Exam: Required for nursing staff by the agency.
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for Telemetry, ICU, ER, and related specialties; up to 3 attempts allowed.
Required Health Documents
- Physical Exam: Must be current within 1 year of start.
- TB Testing: Negative PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months; chest x-ray if previously positive. TB Questionnaire required annually.
- Immunizations:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer required.
- Hepatitis B: Series, titer, or signed declination required.
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required.
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; cannot start with pending results.
- Flu Vaccination: Required or declination during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31).
Additional Requirements
- Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start, including education verification.
- References: Two clinical references required by the agency.
- Skills Checklist: Must be updated within the last 12 months.
- Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof of processing.
Notes
- Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers.
- Return to Office (RTO) maximum of 7 days.
- Candidates must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance.
