Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Garfield Heights, Ohio
Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7pm-7am)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 18 months recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• Must have 18 months permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience prior to travel
• Must hold a permanent Ohio nursing license or compact state license

Certifications Required

• AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
• AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• Willingness to obtain NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification prior to start
• Pass ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate medication test during orientation

References

• One recent reference required from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty applying for (Charge RN references accepted)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID) required and must be carried on assignment
• Background check required prior to start, including FCRA compliant 7-year search and education verification
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start, must be updated annually
• Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of signed contract; facility will also conduct fingerprinting onsite
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam (required for candidates signing after 4/11/2025)
• Fit mask test (N95) required within 12 months of start and updated annually
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Drug screening (standard 10 panel) within 12 months, updated annually
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
• Annual updates required for certain certifications and health documents

Additional Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
• Pass/fail ECG and medication competency testing during orientation (SafeMedicate)
• Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually
• Employment application must include 3 years prior work history, with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care and similar area to assignment
• Two references required from employment within one year of start, from management-level personnel (co-worker references not accepted)

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Contract length is interpreted as 13 weeks
• Candidates must be prepared for strict compliance with all listed requirements; no exceptions will be made
• Candidates can start with fingerprinting results pending as long as fingerprinting is completed prior to start
