Travel RN PCU Job Opportunity

Location: Murfreesboro, Tennessee
Specialty: Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (RN PCU)
Employment Type: Travel

Unit & Patient Information

  • Unit Capacity: 36 beds
  • Population Served: Stepdown/PCU patients including:
    • Continuous BiPAP
    • Low-dose vasopressors
    • Trauma patients
    • Lumbar drains
    • CIWA patients on higher doses of Ativan
    • Hyponatremia
    • Emergency dialysis patients
    • Hyperkalemia
    • Antifreeze ingestions
    • Home vents (trachs)
    • Sheath removal
    • Carotid Endarterectomy (CEA)
    • Rhabdomyolysis
    • Precedex administration
    • Stroke patients with Q2 neuro checks
    • Stable craniotomies
    • Fentanyl drips
  • Patient Age Range: Young Adult through Late Adult (18 - 60+)
  • Nurse to Patient Ratio: 3:1

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment
  • Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Ascension-specific certifications and competencies including:
    • Ascension Color Vision Test (updated every 3 years)
    • Ascension Core Competencies (completed within a year, updated yearly)
    • NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group)
    • Ascension EKG Exam (passing score of at least 80%)
    • Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
    • Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding
    • Ascension Nova StatStrip training
    • Ascension Cerner Test-Out
  • Driver’s License/State ID (must be valid and match address requirements)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
  • Fit Test: Required annually (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite)
  • Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), exemptions accepted with mask requirement
  • TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within a year, and annual TB questionnaire
  • 2 Step PPD or IGRA within 90 days of start
  • Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Health Statement: Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
  • 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually
