Travel RN Opportunity – Medical/Surgical/Telemetry (PCU Float Pool)
Location: Prescott, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking travel RNs for a Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, PCU float pool position in a hospital setting.
Required Experience & Certifications
- Specialty Experience:
- Minimum 2 years recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience
- Minimum 1 year PCU experience
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Licensure: Current state RN license required
- Additional Requirements:
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam with a minimum score of 80% within two attempts prior to contract signing
- Reading and interpreting basic telemetry strips required
- Experience with CVA (stroke) and TIA patients preferred
- Experience with total joint replacement patients preferred
- Cerner electronic health record experience recommended
Unit Details
- Unit: Telemetry – Cardiac/Medical, 3rd Floor
- Beds: 49
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5
- Common Patient Diagnoses: CHF, COVID, respiratory issues, GI problems, diabetes, post-cardiac catheterization, total joint replacement
- Drip Management: No RN titration of drips; set rate Diltiazem/Cardizem drips used
- Telemetry Responsibilities: RNs required to interpret telemetry strips and sign at least once per shift
- Support Staff: Nurse aides present (ratio 1:10-15), Tele/Monitor techs available
- Respiratory Equipment: BiPAP, CPAP, breathing treatments
Scheduling & Work Conditions
- Shift: 7 AM – 7 PM
- Schedule: Posted 4 weeks in advance; self-scheduling with manager final approval
- Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends per 4-week schedule
- Holiday Requirement: Work 2 days and an evening or 2 evenings and a day during Christmas, New Year’s, and Thanksgiving holidays
- Call/Standby: None required
- Floating: Yes, may float to East Campus and possibly PCU if qualified
- Orientation: One shift orientation on the unit
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
Additional Notes
- Radius rule: Candidates must not have worked full-time, part-time, or PRN within the past year at any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and Dignity) within 50 miles
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
