Description

Job Opportunity: Respiratory Care Practitioner RRT

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Clinical Specialist/Professional
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

Under general supervision, provide respiratory therapy services across all appropriate age levels and areas served by the department.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by medical staff
  • Record treatment information and patient responses in electronic medical records
  • Serve as a resource to medical staff
  • Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and patient monitoring
  • Provide age-appropriate patient care
  • Ensure respiratory equipment is cleaned and maintained
  • Maintain respiratory therapy records
  • Participate as a member of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests

Experience Requirements

  • No experience required to apply
  • Preferred: 2 years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting

Education & Certifications

  • Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program (required)
  • Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (required)
  • Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care (required)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required upon hire)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required within 3 months of hire)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential must be obtained within 12 months of hire

Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures, techniques, and equipment operation/repair
  • Clinical decision-making skills related to pulmonary and cardiac patient care across age groups
  • Ability to interpret patient information to identify needs
  • Ability to work effectively under stress
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain good working relationships
  • Basic computer skills
