Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Requirements

• Must have a Wisconsin Respiratory Therapist license prior to start date
• Current critical care experience required, or experience in critical care within the last 12 months
• Ability to manage a heavy workload
• May need to float onsite within skill set or to sites within 40 miles if needed
• Certifications required:

  • BLS (AHA)
  • PALS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • NRP (American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Required Credentials & Compliance

• License and primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start
• Ascension Core Competencies completed within a year of start, updated yearly (minimum 80% score)
• Health and vaccination requirements including:

  • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer, no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
  • Influenza vaccine (seasonal, exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap vaccine (valid 10 years, no declinations accepted)
  • TB testing: Positive IGRA or PPD results, chest X-ray within a year, and annual TB questionnaire
  • Fit Test for respiratory protection (3M 1860 Regular, 3M 1860 Small, or 3M 1870+), updated annually
• Drug screening: 12 panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Background checks and verifications including:

  • Criminal background check (7-year search)
  • EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days of start
  • Employment and education verifications
• Ascension Skills Checklist completed within one year of start, updated annually
• Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• Driver’s license or state ID valid and matching address requirements

Additional Information

• Orientation and onboarding requirements include completion of specific Ascension Respiratory Therapy Contract Worker onboarding education and attestations
• Resume/profile and professional references required prior to assignment
• Post-assignment evaluations may be conducted

Experience

• Specialty years of experience: At least 1 year of current or recent (within 12 months) critical care experience
• Prior travel experience: Not required

This position is ideal for a Registered Respiratory Therapist with recent critical care experience who holds the necessary certifications and licensure, and is comfortable with travel assignments within Wisconsin.
