Job Opportunity: Radiology Interventional Technologist
Location: Novi, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Under the direction of a Radiologist, this role specializes in performing invasive procedures to aid in the evaluation of pathological conditions as prescribed by a physician.
Key Responsibilities
- Explain examination procedures and prepare patients accordingly.
- Obtain additional patient medical history as needed.
- Prepare and administer contrast media, medications, and IV solutions.
- Review clinical data, analyze patient anatomy, set up equipment, and assist Radiologist with complex diagnostic invasive procedures.
- Prepare and set up sterile equipment, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and imaging equipment.
- Ensure adequate supplies (needles, catheters, etc.) are available and properly stored; replenish as needed.
- Actively assess patient condition before, during, and after procedures.
- Manually control equipment to obtain proper diagnostic images.
- Assist in training new personnel or students assigned to the division.
- Perform imaging procedures following radiation protection principles (shielding, dose reduction, ALARA techniques).
- Manage PACS tasks including resolving image exceptions and ensuring high-quality image delivery.
- Complete study indexing in RIS and confirm clinical protocols with Radiologist before studies.
- Perform Quality Assurance procedures and document all necessary information in medical records and radiology information systems.
- Utilize independent judgment for imaging techniques, patient positioning, and safety practices.
- Demonstrate team standards including communication, positive attitude, innovation, and respect for diversity.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Certification:
- Must maintain Healthcare Provider certification (BLS).
- Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) with an advanced registry in one of the following:
- Cardiac-Interventional Radiography (CI)
- Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI)
- Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography (CV)
Experience
- No specific years of experience required or stated.

- Must maintain required hours of continued medical education.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
