Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical (Travel)

Location: Murfreesboro, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Facility & Patient Population

• 34 beds
• Population served: Adult and geriatric medical/surgical patients
• Patient age range: 18 to 60+ years
• Nurse to patient ratio: 1:6
• Core staffing includes RNs, LPNs, Patient Care Technicians, and Nurse Interns
• RN assumes full responsibility for patients on each team

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (Must be AHA certified)
• Current nursing license with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
• License/Certificate verification within 30 days prior to start
• Completion of facility-specific exams and competencies prior to start, including:

  • Ascension Medical Surgical Exam
  • Ascension Color Vision Test
  • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics)
  • Ascension EKG Exam
  • Ascension Cerner Test-Out
  • Ascension Skills Checklist
• Annual or periodic updates required for some certifications

Health & Immunization Requirements

• MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Fit Test: Required annually (preferred prior to start)
• Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
• TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA within 90 days prior to start
• Varicella: Proof of immunity or two doses of vaccine (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
• Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually

Background & Screening

• Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days of assignment
• Employment and education verifications required prior to start and updated annually
• Drug screening: 12 panel urine drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Driver’s license or state ID must be current and valid
