Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical (Travel)

Job Description

• Provide full responsibility for patients on each team as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Work within a variable staffing grid including RNs, LPNs, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), and Nurse Interns (NIs).

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (Must be AHA certified)
• Current nursing license with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
• License/Certificate verification within 30 days prior to start
• Completion of Ascension Medical Surgical Exam prior to start (minimum 80% score, max 2 attempts)
• Ascension Color Vision test completed prior to start
• Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics) completed within a year of start (minimum 80% score, max 2 attempts)
• NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group)
• Ascension EKG Exam (passing score of at least 80%, max 2 attempts)
• Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
• Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (done onsite)
• Ascension Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules
• Ascension Cerner Test-Out
• Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical, completed within one year of start, updated annually)
• Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
• Ascension Education Verification (within 90 days of start)
• Ascension Confirmation of Assignment (upon initial assignment and updates)
• Ascension Employment Verification (past 7 years, updated annually)
• Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender (within 30 days of first assignment, updated annually)
• EPLS check (within 90 days of start, rerun if break in service > 90 days)

Required Health & Immunizations

• MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Fit Test: Required for all travelers, preferred prior to start, updated annually
• Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), exemptions accepted with mask requirement
• Positive PPD or Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
• Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) within 30 days prior to start
• Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)

Additional Requirements

• Driver’s License/State ID (must be current and match address requirements)
• At least two professional references prior to first assignment
• Resume or professional profile submission required
