Job Opportunity: MRI Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Durham, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Position Details

• Schedule Options:

  • Friday 12 PM - 12 AM, Saturday and Sunday 7 AM - 7 PM
  • OR Thursday 12 PM - 12 AM, Saturday and Sunday 7 AM - 7 PM

Experience & Certification Requirements

• Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years in Radiology / Cardiology specialty
• Required Certifications:

  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) - Radiography (R) and Magnetic Resonance (MR)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Required Skills:

  • Experience with both GE and Siemens MRI equipment is mandatory
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required

Health & Safety Requirements

• Flu vaccination is required; no exemptions or declinations accepted
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask (N95 or equivalent) within 12 months of start
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella vaccinations or positive antibody titers (no exemptions)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters if low/equivocal)
  • Polio vaccine or attestation
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no instant tests)

Background & Documentation Requirements

• Background check within 90 days of start, including:

  • SSN trace, county searches, alias searches, nationwide and international checks if applicable
  • Education verification for Radiology / Cardiology specialties (must have graduated from accredited program with AAS or higher)
• Employment application and 7 years of work history required
• Two professional references from employment within 12 months, at least one supervisor
• Skills checklist updated annually
• Facility-specific competency exams and online modules must be completed prior to or during orientation
• Candidate must set up a facility guest account prior to clearance

Additional Notes

• Pass/fail testing on basic tech knowledge will be conducted at orientation (passing grade 80%)
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training provided during orientation (valid for 2 years)
• Candidate must complete all required facility-specific documents and agreements prior to start
• Competency checklists (CBOs) must be completed within 3 weeks after start date

This position is ideal for MRI Technologists with at least 2 years of experience, proficient in GE and Siemens MRI systems, who are comfortable working varied weekend and evening shifts, and meet all health, certification, and background requirements.
