Job Opportunity: ED RN (Emergency Department Registered Nurse)

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing (Pre-Employment)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Provide direct patient care using the nursing process during shifts in the Emergency Department.
  • Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs and responses.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to coordinate care.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed or per protocols.
  • Identify and address patient and family learning and discharge needs.
  • Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel clinically.
  • Complete patient population/age-specific education and competency testing per unit standards.
  • Must successfully pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test onsite before starting; one retest allowed, failure results in contract cancellation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of current experience in a large Emergency Department.
  • Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment (prior travel experience required).
  • Ability to work as a team player, be flexible, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Education Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required.

Certifications & Licensure

  • Valid Nursing License in New Mexico or a Compact State license.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required.
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Epic electronic health record experience preferred but not required; training available onsite.
