Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Location: New London, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide individualized care for safe, effective recovery in the shortest time.
- Work with a variety of conditions including stroke recovery, orthopedic surgery rehabilitation, neurological disorders, and more.
- Services include inpatient and outpatient care such as:
- Arthritis treatment
- Compression garment measurements
- Craniosacral therapy
- Ergonomics
- Functional capacity evaluations
- Gait disturbances
- Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) for Parkinson's
- Lymphedema treatment
- Occupational therapy for upper extremities
- Orthopedics
- Orthotic fabrications (temporary and permanent)
- Pelvic therapy/incontinence rehabilitation (male and female)
- Physical therapy
- Post-concussion treatment
- Post-surgical therapy
- Splint fabrication
- Speech therapy (language and swallowing disorders)
- Vestibular and balance services
- Electronic Medical Record system used: EPIC
- No more than 5 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed during assignment; all RTO must be submitted and approved at time of application.
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered.
- Own vehicle required for this assignment.
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant or Aide in a rehabilitation setting. New graduates will not be considered.
- Prior travel experience is preferred but not required.
- Must hold a current New Hampshire Physical Therapist Assistant license or Compact license.
- Active American Heart Association BLS certification required.
- Submission must include:
- Cover page
- Work history
- Skills checklist relevant to Physical Therapist Assistant/Aide position (updated within 1 year)
- One supervisory reference from within the past two years
Additional Notes
- Scheduling requests and any time off must be included at the time of application submission; requests after offer may result in offer rescission.
- This position involves working day shifts in an inpatient/rehab setting.
This role offers the opportunity to work in a community-focused hospital environment serving a scenic New England region with a variety of specialty services and a patient-centered approach.
