Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room (ER) (Nights)
Location: Springfield, Vermont
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)
Job Description
- Position in the Emergency Department (ED) of a 25-bed critical access hospital open 24/7.
- The ED handles approximately 14,000 patient visits annually.
- Block scheduling is not approved.
- 13-week assignments are not available.
- 48-hour guarantee is not available.
- Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted and approved at the time of application; no more than 10 days of RTO allowed.
- No overtime rate; OT paid at the same hourly rate.
- Call, call-back, and charge pay are not applicable.
- Local travelers (within 50 miles) are not eligible.
- Traveler must have their own vehicle.
Requirements
- Experience:
- Minimum 2+ years of current Emergency Department experience in a hospital setting (required).
- Minimum 3 months prior travel experience preferred (not required).
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Licenses & Certifications (all required and must be current):
- Vermont RN license or Compact RN license.
- American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support).
- American Heart Association ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
- American Heart Association PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
- Documentation:
- Work history and skills checklist specific to Emergency Department within the past year.
- One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years.
- Other:
- Permanent address must be included in profile.
- All scheduling requests and time off must be submitted with application; no changes allowed after offer.
Additional Notes
- This is a night shift position in the Emergency Room.
- The hospital offers a range of inpatient and outpatient services including general surgery, hospitalist program, physical therapy, rehabilitation, and specialty clinics.
- Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Summary:
This is a 6-month temporary RN position in the Emergency Department requiring at least 2 years of recent ED hospital experience, multiple current certifications, and strict adherence to scheduling and time-off policies. Prior travel experience is preferred but not required. Local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible.
