Contract Length: 15 weeks

Job Summary

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process during assigned shifts.
• Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs and responses.
• Coordinate patient care through collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed or per protocols.
• Identify and address patient and family learning and discharge needs.
• Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel clinically.
• Complete patient population, procedure, and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
• Floating between departments or local locations within 20 miles is required.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years current experience in a large Operating Room.
• Ability to scrub.
• Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment.
• Prior travel experience required: Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Epic experience preferred but can be trained on-site.
• Experience in Orthopedics (Ortho), Ear, Eye, Nose, and Throat (EENT), and/or vascular surgery is a plus.

Education Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required.

Certifications & Licensure

• State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License required.
• BLS required (must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross).
• ACLS and PALS preferred (if obtained, must be from the above organizations).

This position is ideal for experienced OR RNs who have prior travel contract experience and are comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with flexibility to float between departments.
