Description

Job Opportunity: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Sioux City, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide professional and clinical care as part of an interdisciplinary team in the ICU setting.
  • May be asked to float within the same discipline across local campuses.
  • Local candidates are NOT eligible; candidates must have a taxable address more than 50 miles from the facility.
  • EMR system used: Cerner.
  • Orientation schedule available with multiple start dates.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of previous nursing experience required.
  • Must have 24 months (2 years) of current experience specifically in Intensive Care / ICU / Critical Care / CCU.
  • First-time travelers are welcome (prior travel experience NOT required).

Certifications Required

  • Active Iowa RN license (Nursys verification required).
  • BLS (AHA or ARC).
  • ACLS (AHA or ARC).
  • PALS (AHA or ARC).
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification.

Additional Requirements

  • Skills checklist specific to Intensive Care / ICU / Critical Care / CCU discipline.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Professional reference or performance evaluation from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, or equivalent within the last 24 months (preferred but not mandatory).

Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
  • The role includes potential overtime and holiday pay multipliers.
  • Call back and on-call pay available.

This position is ideal for ICU nurses with solid critical care experience looking for a temporary assignment in Iowa.
