Job Opportunity: ED RN (Emergency Department Registered Nurse)
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Clinical - Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process during assigned shifts.
- Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs and responses.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to coordinate care.
- Follow and document appropriate protocols and standards of care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Identify and address patient and family learning and discharge needs.
- Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel clinically.
- Complete patient population/age-specific procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
- Floating between departments or local locations within 20 miles is required.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years current experience in a large Emergency Department.
- Must be a team player, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior travel experience required: Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment.
- Must successfully pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test administered onsite before starting the assignment. One retest allowed; failure to pass after retest results in contract cancellation.
Education Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required.
Certifications & Licensure
- Valid State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
Preferred Qualifications
- Epic electronic health record experience preferred but not required; training available onsite.
