Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg/Telemetry (Nights)

Location: Des Moines, Iowa

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Initial training on 3E unit (med surg post-op surgical care) before transitioning to 5E unit starting March 10th
• Patient types include a variety of med surg care patients
• Patient ratios: 4-5 patients per nurse
• Unit bed size: 15
• Responsibilities may include charge nurse duties and precepting new team members as needed
• Float required across multiple campuses within the system
• Telemetry/cardiac monitoring experience preferred
• Use of EPIC EMR system required
• Heparin drip experience required
• Scrubs: Navy blue, solids

Schedule & Hours

• 36-40 hours per week, with overtime billable after 40 hours
• Orientation dates firm starting March 2nd
• Must be willing to extend beyond the initial 13-week assignment

Experience & Licensure Requirements

• Minimum 24 months of current Med Surg / Med Surg Tele experience (highest required years of experience)
• Proficiency caring for all types of med surg patients
• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license required at time of submission
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC required
• Driver’s license required

Prior Travel Experience

• Must have completed at least 1 prior travel contract within the previous 18 months (prior travel experience required)

Additional Information

• Strong, motivated individuals who can adapt to changes and contribute positively to team culture are desired
• Must be open to working across multiple campuses within the hospital system
• Professional references preferred, ideally from charge nurse, supervisor, or nurse manager within the last 24 months

This position is ideal for experienced Med Surg/Telemetry RNs who have prior travel experience and are comfortable working in a dynamic, multi-campus environment.
