Job Opportunity: MRI Tech
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks

Work Schedule & Call
- 1 call weekend every 6 weeks
- Floating within facility/scope of practice and to outpatient as needed
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience in specialty
- Unit accepts first-time travelers
- Prior travel experience: Not required
Clinical Screening
- Candidate will be reviewed by clinical team for fit and compliance with guidelines before final decision
Orientation & Compliance
- Maximum 7 days Return to Office (RTO)
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8 weeks)
Holiday Work Expectations
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
- If 2 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work both
- If 3 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work 2 of them
- Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
Required Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for certain specialties; check if applicable
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Generally required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for some RN specialties (e.g., ER, PACU)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure): May be required depending on specialty
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire (no renewal required)
- Tech Cert Verification: National allied license verification within 30 days prior to start
- State License: Must be valid and verified within 30 days prior to start (Georgia license required for CRTs & RRTs)
- NURSYS Verification: Annual verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP within 30 days prior to start
- NIH Stroke Certification: May be required depending on specialty
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required for RNs and LVNs by agency
- Color Blind Testing: Required for all candidates; alternative assessment available if needed
- Competency Exam: Required for nursing and allied health by agency
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for Telemetry, ICU, ER, Cardiac step-down, etc. Three attempts allowed
Health & Background Requirements
- Background Check: Required within 30 days of start; must include multiple county and national checks, education verification, and cannot start with pending background
- Physical Exam: Required within 12 months of start (agency requirement)
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; cannot start with results pending
- TB Testing: PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months; if past positive, additional documentation and chest x-ray required
- TB Questionnaire: Required annually for all candidates
- Vaccinations:
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post-start if eligible
- Hepatitis B: Series, surface antibody titer, or signed declination; declination form required if titer negative
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post-start if eligible
- Flu Vaccine: Required or declination during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
- Additional Health Documents: May be required depending on specialty
History & Verification
- 2 clinical references required (agency requirement)
- Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
- Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof of processing
Notes
- Locals accepted at same rate
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Appearance Policy prior to start
- Privileging requirements apply only to certain specialties (not applicable here)
This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity transplant and stroke center with a focus on MRI/MRA imaging. The role supports floating within the facility and outpatient areas, with a manageable call schedule. First-time travelers are welcome.
