Job Description
- Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW) and Every Other Holiday (EOH)
- Requires 2 years of experience in PCU / Med-Surg Telemetry Acute Care
- Placement on unit with greatest need: PCU, Med/Surg, or Telemetry unit based on skills
- Accepts Med/Surg or Stepdown RN credentials (same credentialing for both)
- Must be willing to float onsite within skill set or to sites within 40 miles if needed
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of specialty experience in PCU / Med-Surg Telemetry Acute Care
- Prior travel experience is NOT explicitly required
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Current RN license with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- License/Certificate verification within 30 days prior to start
- Driver’s License/State ID (must be valid and meet address requirements)
Required Health & Compliance
- Ascension Color Vision test (completed prior to start, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; completed within a year of start, updated yearly)
- NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group)
- Ascension EKG Exam (passing score required)
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted
- Fit Test (annual, preferred prior to start)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine (seasonal; exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
- TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within a year, and annual TB questionnaire
- Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA within 90 days of start
- Varicella: Proof of immunity or two vaccines; no declinations accepted
- Tdap vaccination (valid for 10 years; no declinations accepted)
- 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
Required Professional Documentation & Verification
- Ascension Profile (resume or professional profile)
- At least two professional references prior to first assignment
- Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry (within 30 days of first assignment, updated annually)
- EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days of start
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills verification within one year, updated annually)
- Education Verification (within 90 days of start)
- Confirmation of Assignment documentation
- Employment Verification for past 7 years
- Ascension Badge Photo (headshot with white or blue background, no filters)
- Ascension Specialty Exam (passing score required, updated every 3 years)
Additional Notes
- Traveler must complete onboarding requirements and attestations prior to or at start
- Must be able to float to other units or nearby sites as needed
- No prior travel experience explicitly required for this assignment
