Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Unit: Family Birthing Center
• Beds: 13 Labor & Delivery / 9 Mother Baby
• Operating Rooms: 2 OR suites
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, every other weekend (EOW), with extra shifts available
• Shift Times: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Weekend Requirement: Days every 3rd weekend, nights every other weekend
• Holidays: Rotate with core staff
• Floating: First to float; may float to Mother Baby or Level 1 nursery if experienced
• Orientation: 2-3 days depending on skill set
• Patient Volume: Approximately 90-100 births per month
• Patient Types: Standard labor, high risk, OB triage for patients 20 weeks or greater; patients under 20 weeks evaluated in ER
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:2 in Labor, 1:4 in Mother Baby
• Charge Nurse: Yes, may take patients if necessary
• Nurse Aides: Not available
• Telemetry: No
• Ventilators: No
• Call: No call for travelers
• Support Services:

  • OB physicians and anesthesia in-house 24/7
  • Respiratory Therapy 24/7
  • Pharmacy 24/7
  • IV Team available if necessary
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner
• Scrub Color: Provided

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Licenses & Certifications:

  • Active California RN License
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Advanced AWHONN Fetal Monitoring (AFM) — copy required at submission
• Additional: Must be able to circulate C-sections
• References: Two supervisory references required (one within 12 months, one within 3 years)
• Employment Restrictions: No direct employment (full-time, part-time, or PRN) with CommonSpirit facilities, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year; PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable
