Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)

Location: Snyder, Texas

Job Description

• Execute specialized therapy plans designed by the Occupational Therapist (OT)
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities to improve motor skills and coordination
• Teach patients how to perform Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and eating, often using adaptive techniques
• Instruct patients and families on the use of adaptive equipment like reachers, mobility aids, or modified kitchen utensils
• Monitor and document patient progress, behavioral changes, and safety concerns; report findings to supervising OT for treatment plan adjustments
• Provide emotional support to patients and train caregivers on assisting with home programs
• Prepare treatment areas, clean equipment, and assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling and billing

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Occupational Therapy Assistant experience in a Long Term Care (LTC) setting
• Valid Texas or compact Occupational Therapy Assistant license

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Department of Rehabilitation (DOR)
