Job Opportunity: Interventional Technologist I - FS
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Clinical Technician
Job Summary
This entry-level position works under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor to achieve initial competencies in delivering specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services. The role supports medical staff in diagnosing, caring for, treating, and monitoring simple to complex conditions in adult and/or pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care using cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology in various care settings (inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic centers, outreach clinics).
- Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with physician orders.
- Communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams to meet clinical and operational goals.
- Operate specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment to perform diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures within scope of practice.
- Conduct post-procedure reviews to ensure documentation and technical quality meet department protocols and accreditation standards.
- Transfer images and data to archival systems and prepare studies for physician reporting.
- Perform quality control, cleaning, and maintenance of equipment per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development to maintain competencies and improve care.

Required Qualifications
Education
- Associate’s degree or higher
Certifications & Licensure (one of the following required)
- ARDMS - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
- ARDMS - Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
- ARRT - Vascular Interventional Radiography
- ARRT - Cardiac Interventional Radiography
- ARRT – Radiography
- CCI - Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS)
- CCI - Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
- CCI - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
- CCI - Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
Experience
- Entry-level position; no specific years of specialty experience required beyond ability to achieve initial competencies.
Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology principles, medical imaging, terminology, patient positioning, and medical ethics.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions reliably.
- Sensitivity to patients’ physical and psychological needs.
- Accuracy in record-keeping and handling confidential information.
- Ability to multi-task, remain calm under stress, and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong communication skills with staff, patients, and families.
- Initiative, attention to detail, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Core understanding of anatomy, physiology, and specialty-specific technologies and terminology.
- Ability to apply core-level specialty theory and techniques with general supervision.
