Job Opportunity: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Location: Euclid, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with Med/Surg Telemetry experience for night shifts (7pm-7:30am), working 3 twelve-hour shifts per week. This is a travel contract position with a contract length of approximately 13 weeks.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 18 months recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience.
• Must have 18 months permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience prior to travel.

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Current Ohio RN license or Compact State license in hand.
• AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• Recent (within last 6 months) Epic charting experience is required.

Work Requirements

• Must work at least every other holiday.
• Must pass ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate test during orientation.
• One recent reference required from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty applied for (Charge RN references accepted).

Orientation & Training

• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start is mandatory.
• Pass/Fail ECG and medication dosing testing will be completed onsite during orientation.
• Orientation includes assessments on ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety.

Background & Health Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required.
• Background check including FCRA compliant 7-year search, education verification, and fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) required prior to start and updated annually.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam.
• Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months of start and updated annually.
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 12 months)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer
  • Varicella vaccination or titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
• Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start, updated annually.

Additional Requirements

• Employment application must include 3 years prior work history, with at least 2 years in acute care and similar specialty.
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams required.
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
• Pass/Fail testing acknowledgment required for all nursing positions except OR.
• Fingerprinting must be completed under nursing code 4723.09 and results must be on file prior to contract extension.
• Candidates may start with fingerprinting results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start.

Summary

This is a travel contract RN position for Med/Surg Telemetry on the night shift in Ohio, requiring a minimum of 18 months recent and permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience, current Ohio or Compact RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and recent Epic experience. Candidates must complete required health screenings, background checks, and facility-specific training prior to starting.
