Job Opportunity: Cardiac Tele Registered Nurse

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
  • Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
  • Floating to other units as required
  • Focus on cardiac patients including Congestive Heart Failure, rule-out myocardial infarction, Acute Coronary Syndrome, Arrhythmias
  • Secondary focus on respiratory issues such as COPD and pneumonia
  • Patient diagnoses include Heart Failure, Respiratory Failure, NSTEMI, COPD, Pneumonia

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of specialty experience in Registered Nursing (Cardiac Telemetry)
  • First-time travelers are welcome (prior travel experience NOT required)

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC approved
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC approved
  • Pass/Fail EKG/Dysrhythmia Exam (must pass with 82% or higher, 2 attempts allowed)
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
  • NURSYS Verification (RN license verification within 60 days of start)
  • State RN License (Primary Source Verification required within 30 days of start)
  • Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., NIH Stroke Certification for Cardiac Progressive Care)

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse license valid in North Carolina
  • Cardiac Telemetry experience required
  • ACLS and BLS certifications current and valid
  • Ability to pass the facility’s EKG competency exam
  • Flexibility with scheduling and adherence to zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
  • Ability to float to other units as needed

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Social Security Card for badge issuance
  • Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Education verification: Associate’s degree in nursing or higher required
  • Transcript/Diploma as proof of highest education (if applicable)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
  • Immunizations and health documents including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine proof
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B titer or declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
  • Fit mask test completed within current calendar year and updated annually
  • Fingerprinting may be required for certain positions (not typical for this role)
  • Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
  • Verification of employment history for last 5 years
  • Two supervisory references required (one within 12 months, one within 24 months)

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must be aware of and comply with the facility’s pass/fail EKG exam requirement
  • Floating policy applies to all agency staff regardless of unit
  • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies including floating and contractor equipment acknowledgment
  • Badge photo must meet strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire)
